Dearne Valley Venture


We are a registered charity who specialise in Life Long Learning for the ages of 8 - 80+.

We provide training, skilled development, fitness classes and advice services for the people of the Dearne Valley, and have been around for 21years.

We are a unique organisation in as much as we work across all three of the Dearne Valley metropolitan areas, Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham.
 We are totally independent from any other organisation.

We were originally formed from several community groups who wanted to get together to provide work opportunities for the local community and needed somewhere to meet.  A lease was taken on an old school building in
Bolton-upon-Dearne and the D.V.V. was born.

In April 2007 we acquired new premises (The Renaissance Centre) on Priory Road Bolton, together with Barnsley Dearne Community Partnership.

The Renaissance Centre is now a project in its own right and has a management team to guide its progress and oversee all the projects contained within the building.  It is still owned and run by its member groups the list of which grows yearly.

The Resource Centre houses several different projects and the Staff extend a warm and hearty welcome to anyone who wishes to
visit us here in Bolton-upon-Dearne.
